iPhone browser has flash support coming!
Big news! Flash is most likely coming to the iPhone! After many complaints about its absense, Adobe finally have gone ahead and made it. Now it’s just up to Apple to give the big go-ahead and we can all be watching hilarous animations and non-youtube videos on the go.
Update: Welcome Diggers! Why not build a tower of things you have lying around your desk and win $100? Or just listen to some cool electronic music instead? And I guess you enjoy reading breaking iPhone news, so why not subscribe?

Adobe has had flash for the iPhone for quite some time now; it’s Apple’s approval that they are waiting on.
That is great news. So does anyone know if this will be available via App Store, for easy install, or only through firmware updates?

Why would Apple give it the go ahead?
It would allow devs to build apps that can be ported easily to other platforms… where as cocoa touch can’t be ported as easily keeping apps on Apple devices. Maybe if adobe made flash on other smart phones better apple might care.

I hope this never makes it to the iPhone, and that an flashless iPhone convinces serious web developers to drop flash as a tool. Flash is garbage and should have died with CD-ROMs.

You can debate have/has colour/color forever. Howe’er no one bothered to mention the misspelling of the word absence. Sigh. Furthermore, flash was created by Macromedia who was bought by Adobe in 2005. Apple has a history of relegating legacy hardware/software to the bin where it belongs. Despite the ubiquitous nature of flash, serious developers should cease using it yesterday.
