iPhone FranceOrange, the official French supplier of iPhones, has just released sales figures of the first month of sales. And they are impressive to say the least. Just over 70,000 iPhones were sold in it’s firs month of release. Of that, 30,000 were in the first week alone! Wonder if Australia (if we do ever see a release date) will match those kinds of numbers.

An interesting hitch in the numbers was that only 3,500 of those were sold unlocked (an unlocked version was compulsory under French law). This may be due to a couple of reasons, the first being an increased sale price of unlocked phones and the second due to a lack of decent data plans on other carriers. But still, it is surprsing the numbers are such a small percentage of sales.
