Telstra CEO Sol Trujillo has confirmed that talks have taken place with Apple but says no final decision has been made. This news doesn’t really come as a shock and Apple are more than likely in talks with other wireless providers. Telstra is currently however Australia’s only provider of EDGE network data, which makes it the easiest and most likely choice. Optus is however also an extremely large provider in Aus, so it is a tossup on who Apple will go with. It is expected the iPhone will (officially) arrive in Aus sometime in 2008, but really, who needs official providers when we have iPhone unlocks, though visual voicemail would be nice.
